KARACHI: Due to bad weather in Karachi, all domestic and international flights were diverted to nearest Airports in the province on Saturday, according to Pak Weather dot com.
Due to severe weather conditions, the Karachi airport has temporarily suspended arrival and departure operations, the report said.
It should be noted that the metropolis received heavy to moderate showers on Saturday evening.
North Karachi, Surjani Town, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Orangi Town, Bahria Town, Saddar, North Nazimabad, Tower, Liaquatabad, and Nazimabad were among the places that had heavy rain.
A breakdown in the energy supply caused North Nazimabad and its surrounding suburbs to go dark after the intense downpour.
Additionally, clouds have also poured over Karachi, Bahadurabad and Super Highway.
In an earlier announcement today, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) highlighted the influence of a westerly wave affecting various parts of the country, with a likelihood of persisting over the upper regions on Sunday. The Met Office predicted rain, thunderstorms, and mountain snowfall in Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and Kashmir.
The PMD forecasted isolated heavy snowfall in northeast and southern Balochistan during this period. On a prior occasion, the Met Office had anticipated substantial rainfall in Karachi on February 3 and 4.
