The Sindh government has announced a two-month exemption for women from paying fares on the Pink Bus Service in Karachi.
During a ceremony introducing a new fleet of buses on Monday, Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon made the announcement. PPP leader Faryal Talpur had requested this exemption for passengers on the Pink Bus Service in the port city.
PPP leaders emphasized that the government is committed to providing quality transport facilities to women through this luxury bus service, in line with the vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Mr. Memon stated that the government has delivered on all promises made to the public, while Ms. Talpur expressed gratitude to Mr. Memon for accepting her request.

Earlier, Sindh Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon announced two new routes for the Pink People’s Bus Service in Karachi. Currently operating on the R1 route from Model Colony Malir to Tower via Shahrah-e-Faisal, the service is expanding. Sharjeel Memon chaired a meeting to oversee arrangements for launching new transport projects in Karachi and Mirpurkhas.
The meeting decided to introduce two new routes for the Pink Bus Service in Karachi on April 19. The R10 route, exclusively for the People’s Pink Bus Service (for women only), will commence from Numaish Chowrangi, passing through M.A Jinnah Road, Zaibunissa Street, Metropol, Do Talwar, Teen Talwar, Mazar e Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Dolman Mall, and ending at the Sea View clock tower. Additionally, the meeting decided to launch the People’s Bus Service in Mirpurkhas on April 20.
