Journalist Irshad Bhatti has claimed that actress Momina Iqbal received lavish gifts and expensive benefits from Saqib Chadhar, a PML-N lawmaker, which he is now reportedly seeking to recover amid an ongoing dispute between the two.
According to reports cited by Bhatti, based on lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq, the former MPA had presented highly expensive gifts to Momina Iqbal with the intention of marriage.
These reportedly included a Toyota Fortuner, a Honda Civic, a luxury watch worth 8.4 million rupees, and other expensive items. It is also claimed that the Fortuner is currently being used by the actress’s mother, along with a long list of travel-related expenses.
The lawyer further said that the two were in a relationship for nearly five years and that marriage discussions had progressed quite far, with both families reportedly agreeing to the proposal.
However, tensions allegedly arose after Chadhar learned about Momina Iqbal’s previous marriages, one of which had ended in divorce while another reportedly concluded during their relationship.
Irshad Bhatti also reported that relations initially became strained but later improved, with wedding preparations even beginning. The situation reportedly worsened again when Chadhar learned of her planned marriage elsewhere.
According to the lawyer, when he contacted Momina Iqbal regarding the issue, he allegedly received threats from her would-be husband, prompting Chaudhry to file a formal case.
Meanwhile, Momina Iqbal is reportedly set to marry on June 1, 2026, with her family confirming the wedding will proceed as scheduled despite the controversy. The lawyer, however, has denied harassment claims, saying that Chadhar only wants his gifts returned and has no objection to her marriage.
