India has expressed support for the establishment of a two-state solution in the Middle East, involving both Palestine and Israel.
India’s Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, stated in the Rajya Sabha that India remains committed to its long-standing position on the creation of a separate, independent, and sovereign Palestinian state, alongside Israel. He reiterated India’s support for the establishment of a free Palestinian state.
The Foreign Minister further mentioned that since the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict began on October 7, 2023, 13 resolutions related to Palestine have been presented at the United Nations. India supported 10 of these resolutions, while abstaining from 3.
India is also providing aid to Palestinians affected by the conflict.
It is noteworthy that India has previously signed multi-million-dollar agreements with Israel for advanced weaponry, some of which are reportedly being used by Israel against Palestinians.
