LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari has asserted that the PTI-led government lacked the competence to manage the affairs of the country.
The leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – as part of the second phase of its anti-government campaign – reached the mausoleum of the former premier from Naudero to address the crowd.
“The incompetent government would collapse under its own burden, they can only play cricket,” he said, while addressing a huge public gathering via video link. Asif Zardari also predicted that the ruling PTI would perish just like the past political parties formed by the military dictators.
The former president further said that the Imran Khan-led government can be toppled but stressed to adopt an ‘out of the box strategy’ to remove him from power. “People like you come and go. You don’t have any value,” he remarked.
The PPP co-chairperson also said following in the ideology of the party founder and her late wife Benazir he introduced the 18 Amendment to empower the provinces. He challenged the government to hold elections and see who the people stand behind.
