LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced to hold a long march after January 31 if Prime Minister Imran Khan did not resign.
The leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – as part of the second phase of its anti-government campaign – reached the mausoleum of the former premier from Naudero to address the crowd.
Addressing the public gathering, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asserted that the government and any naysayers, who think the Opposition will back off, need only look to the Bhutto mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while paying tribute to her late mother Benazir Bhutto, said her ideology is still alive whereas those who fought with her are nowhere to be seen.
“The grave of former military dictator Ziaul Haq is deserted whereas General Musharraf is living a life of coward in self-imposed exile,” he added. He also recounted the struggles of his grandfather and his uncles.
“Look at Benazir Bhutto’s life, spent in the service of the people,” he said, adding that when Benazir Bhutto returned to the country in 2007 she knew that she could be assassinated but she did not back off.
Bilawal further said due to anti-people policies of the PTI-led government millions of people are compelled to live below the poverty line and people belonging to all walks of life are suffering hardships.
