The by-elections on the vacated seats of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf were held on Sunday and the results were almost as expected.
The people of the country are most interested in politics after the game of cricket. But there is a difference in cricket that the people have some awareness of the game as the masses had been playing the game at the local level. On the contrary, they have no practical role in politics. They become political commentators just by reading newspapers or watching TV talk shows and start their conversation with a bang on the Twitter handles, Facebook posts or YouTube vlogs of political analysts with a bang.
Even our politicians and anchors from above do not stop deceiving the masses. They often say Pakistan’s voter is very knowledgeable, just to mislead them.
What happened to the country’s economy in 3 and a half years of Imran Khan’s government, has it happened in 75 years in any other government It is not that only the Jews are devoid of political consciousness but this is the situation of all the political parties.
You should see this simple rule that if a leader of a major party from one constituency contests elections and his opponent is only a common worker or another third rank leader, then there is a 90% chance that The victory will belong to the Honorable Leader. When a party leader himself is a candidate in a constituency, his constituency worker naturally has an extra charge. But what is being discussed about the results of the by-election? That is, Imran Khan’s victory means that he is very popular.
The so-called political consciousness could not even see the fact that PDM did not run an election campaign against Imran Khan, and did not hold any big rallies. Even Maryam Nawaz of PML-N went to London for a tour just before these elections, so it meant that there was some match-fixing. Tell me with justice, can such consciousness be called political consciousness? And such superficial people can be given the right to come to the social media accounts of political analysts and start talking about politics?
Almost all political analysts agree that the Long March is merely a phony threat. After May 25, Akhir al-Muminin has repeatedly given this threat, but they are not able to take the risk. And now he is clearly looking for ways to get back into the assembly. They are insisting on conceding half of their demands behind the curtain for honorable return. But instead of accepting any demand, the government fixed the by-election match. So that Akhir al-Muminin can return to the National Assembly by saying that the confidence shown by the people in the by-election requires that he return to the assembly with this public weight.
If this is not the case, then what is the reason why the central leadership of PDM gave a walk-over to Akhir al-Momineen? Why did the central leadership of PDM not hold an election rally? Why did Maryam Nawaz take the road to London before the by-elections? Another thing is that Mardan and Swabi are strongholds of JUI. 4 or 5 central presidents and general secretaries of its student organization JTI have come from here during the last 40 years. As a result of the by-election in this constituency, Maulana Qasim of JUI lost by only 8000 votes. If Maulana Fazlur Rehman had stood from this constituency, Imran Khan’s clear defeat would have been certain. And this would have been a big blow for Imran Khan. The question is whether Maulana would not have guessed this. Of course, but when the match is fixed, then?
If he returns to the assembly instead of threatening to jam the roads as a result of this drama, then it is a victory for the PDM. This return will mean nothing but a major political defeat for the Akhil al-Muminin. The man who has been holding smoky rallies since April saying that today the government will fall, tomorrow it will fall, the day after tomorrow and every date given by him has gone smoothly and in the end he returns to the assembly instead of bringing down the government. If this is not a defeat, what else is it?
PDM has fixed the match to defeat Akhirul Momineen and he also knows this, but as a result of their recklessness and major political mistakes, he has no option left at all. He has to swallow this bitter pill now, otherwise, the general elections will bring an interim government formed by Shehbaz Sharif and Raja Riaz, because according to the constitution, the interim government is formed after consultation with the Prime Minister and the opposition leader.
The real test of Akhir-ul-Momineen’s popularity will be when the leader of the PML-N Mian Nawaz Sharif, will face him in the arena. And PDM will be in the fray with all its major players. PDM is resting its big players to prepare for this big fight. And Akhirul Muminin are convincing by beating a Hong Kong level team as if they had won the cup against a Cleveland-based West Indian or an Australian team with Steve Waugh.
If a cricket match is in jeopardy due to the unfitness of a major player, then in the by-election match of politics, not a single main player of PDM was in the field. In such a case, if the victory was not for Akhir al-Muminin, then who would it be? According to me, if the common citizen had political awareness, he would have been arguing that Shahbaz Sharif and other federal ministers could not have campaigned. So the same people were present with the PML-N or the election campaign. One is Maryam Nawaz and the other is Hamza Shahbaz.
