ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad District Court has ordered a one-day physical remand for Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, as well as Adnan Khan, the brother of PTI leader Asad Qaiser. Duty Judge Azhar Nadeem issued the court’s decision.
Today, the two sisters were presented in court before Duty Magistrate Azhar Nadeem, in connection with a case filed at the Kohsar Police Station. Although the police had requested a 20-day physical remand, the court only approved a one-day remand.
Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Adnan Khan will be presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) tomorrow. Moreover, nine other women were sent to jail on judicial remand.
Yesterday, the Islamabad police detained multiple PTI activists, including Imran Khan’s sisters, while they attempted to reach D-Chowk for a planned protest.
Aleema and Uzma Khan were taken into custody upon arrival at D-Chowk and were subsequently moved to the secretariat police station.
