MALAKAND: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan is running the no-confidence motion.
Addressing a public rally in Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bilawal said Imran Khan lost majority in the Parliament and his government had ended. “Imran Khan is a former prime minister now,” he claimed.
Bilawad said they would never participate in any unconstitutional act to send the prime minister packing, nor does the PPP believe in maligning any institution and going to the court to bring down a prime minister.
Reacting to PM Imran Khan for calling the opposition leaders ‘three stooges’, Bilawal alleged that the premier is running away from the competition. He also blamed the prime minister for orchestrating attack on the Parliament Lodges and the Sindh House, adding that hurling abuses was the sign of a defeated person. “Teach your children Urdu first before advising us to learn Urdu,” Bilawal said.
Bilawal alleged that NA speaker Asad Qaiser delay in summon the parliamentary session could lead to Article 6. “It is the constitutional requirement to summon the session within 14 days of submission of the no-trust move,” he added.
He said that the PM should focus on 172 members in the assembly rather than claiming to hold a historic demonstration in Islamabad. He said that he feels a special connection with the people of Malakand as they were close to Benazir Bhutto and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s hearts.
Bilawal said that former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto brought gas and electricity to this region, opened its first woman bank, first woman police station and employed lady health workers. He added the PPP gave economic autonomy to KP bypassing the 18th Amendment.
