BIONIKS, a pioneering startup from Pakistan, has made history by becoming the first company from the country to receive the distinguished Zero Project Award 2025.
The award recognizes the company’s groundbreaking efforts to empower individuals with disabilities by integrating them into the workforce through the use of advanced prosthetic technology.
Founded in 2016, BIONIKS specializes in orthotics and prosthetics. To date, it has successfully sold 700 custom-designed prosthetics, leveraging artificial intelligence and 3D scanning to create tailored solutions for its users.
The Zero Project Award is a globally esteemed honor that celebrates innovative initiatives advancing the rights of persons with disabilities.
Out of 522 global nominations, BIONIKS was among 77 winners for 2025, as announced in a post by the company on X. The recognition was officially conferred at a UN event, highlighting BIONIKS’ AI-powered prosthetics as one of the world’s most impactful and scalable technologies. This milestone marks BIONIKS as the first Pakistani company to achieve this accolade.

Earlier this year, BIONIKS launched a mobile AI-driven limb factory in Gaza, enabling amputees to access personalized prosthetic arms and legs.
The company first garnered international acclaim in 2021 by designing a multi-grip bionic arm for four-year-old Mohammed Sideeq, who became the youngest recipient of such an advanced prosthetic limb.
