Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced an All Parties Conference (APC) to address the situation in Balochistan.
Speaking after a law and order meeting in Quetta, he asserted that no one will be allowed to speak against the country’s martyrs.
The prime minister criticised those seeking ties with the Taliban, stating that their actions have led to the current security challenges.
He also warned that infiltrators disguised as friends are working against Pakistan’s interests
He warned that if terrorism is not eradicated, Pakistan’s progress will come to a halt.
Chairing a security meeting in Quetta, the prime minister expressed deep sorrow over the Jaffar Express attack, stating that the entire nation was mourning.
He condemned the terrorists for holding unarmed passengers hostage before executing them in cold blood.
“The passengers were returning home for Eid, including army personnel. Suicide bombers surrounded them, but a strategic operation was carried out,” PM Shehbaz said.
He praised the Zarrar Company for saving 339 lives and noted that security forces neutralized 33 terrorists.
The prime minister questioned why terrorism has re-emerged despite Pakistan’s sacrifices.
“The nation gave 80,000 lives to defeat terrorism. Our forces had crushed this menace. So why is it rising again?” he asked.
He directly blamed those who supported the Taliban, saying, “We are facing these days because some people aligned themselves with the Taliban. They released thousands of militants from jails. The way this incident has been discussed is beyond words.”
He also criticised Pakistan’s “eastern enemy” for spreading propaganda and warned against internal criticism of the military, stating, “If we target our own armed forces, imagine what will happen to the country.”
