SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Friday, accused the former Prime Minister of Pakistan of blackmailing the anti-corruption body’s head to lodge cases against his political opponents. She was addressing a political rally in Sheikhupura.
In her speech, Maryam said Imran had promised to turn PM House into a university for the public. Instead, she alleged that he had turned it into a blackmailing lair.
Maryam Nawaz mentioned the Tayyaba Gul’s testimony before the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the woman, whose husband had been arrested, had approached National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal for justice but was then allegedly sexually harassed and threatened by the NAB’s chief.
Maryam Nawaz claimed the former Prime Minister Imran Khan allegedly kept the video evidence and illegally detained Gul in the Prime Minister House for over a month.
Maryam further claimed Imran Khan used the videos to blackmail NAB chief to lodge cases against his political opponents, saying that the number of cases against the PML-N leaders increased exponentially after that.
The PLMN vice president blamed Imran’s government for the rising inflation and fuel prices. Maryam said that because of the agreements allegedly signed by Imran Khan with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), prices of fuel and power had to be raised.
Maryam Nawaz said People know how Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif brought Pakistan out of crises and would do once again.
