AUSTRALIA: International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced that it was planning for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to go ahead as scheduled.
The event is scheduled to play from 18 October to 15 November 2020 at seven venues across Australia.
According to the ICC announcement by Chief Executive Officer, in wake of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee is monitoring the situation closely with relevant officials and will continue to do so.
COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus, has forced stop several sports events across the globe as the life-threatening virus is highly contagious and health experts have advised preventing any large gatherings.
Over 7000 lives have been lost to the virus while the number of persons affected by the virus has crossed 180,000 worldwide.
