RAWALPINDI: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that human tragedy must be stopped in Afghanistan and international consensus is needed on Afghanistan.
According to ISPR, Commander Royal Bahrain Naval Force Mohammed Yousif al-Asam visited General Headquarters (GHQ) and met with the Commander-in-Chief.
A statement issued by the ISPR said that issues of mutual interest, the situation in Afghanistan, and bilateral defense and security cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
The Bahraini commander expressed his desire to further enhance cooperation in various fields while praising the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces as well as Pakistan’s role in the situation in Afghanistan and its border management.
The Chief of Army Staff said on the occasion that Pakistan wants to maintain the tradition of traditional relations with Bahrain and long-term comprehensive cooperation and relations.
He further said that there is a need for international consensus on Afghanistan, a human tragedy must be stopped in Afghanistan, peace and reconciliation initiatives in Afghanistan are important and needed.
