The 9th edition of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup begins in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, with the Pakistan women’s team, captained by Fatima Sana, takes on Sri Lanka in the opening game at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The 18-day competition features ten teams, with the women’s team from Pakistan placed in Group “A” with Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Group “B” includes Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.
All 23 matches of the tournament will be played in Sharjah and Dubai.

Format
The ICC has split the ten qualified teams for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 into two groups of five teams each. From October 3 to October 15, teams will play one match each against the other four teams in their group. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled for October 17 and 18. On October 20, the tournament winner will be announced.
