French football star Kylian Mbappé has now won more in his short career than most players are ever able to achieve and is known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, strength, and explosive speed.

He’s already claimed five domestic titles in France, scored 250 career goals and, four years ago, lifted the World Cup trophy.

He started his career at Monaco where he made his senior debut at the age of 16 years. With them, he won a Ligue 1 title, Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year, and the Golden Boy award. In 2017, he signed for league rivals Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan, which was made permanent in 2018 in a transfer worth €180 million, making him the both second-most expensive player and most expensive teenager ever.

With PSG, Mbappé has won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France titles, has finished as Ligue 1 top scorer twice, won Ligue 1 Player of the Year, and is the seventh-highest goal-scorer in the club’s history.

At international level, Mbappé made his senior debut for France in 2017, at age 18. At the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Mbappé became the youngest French player to score at a World Cup, and became the second teenager, after Pelé, to score in a World Cup Final. He finished as the joint second-highest goal-scorer as France won the tournament, and he received the Best Young Player and French Player of the Year awards for his performances.

Mbappe signed a new three-year contract with PSG worth upwards of €250 million in salary alone, and could potentially be worth upwards of €630 million according to some reports.

According to reports upon the signing of his new contract, including from the New York Times and The Guardian, Mbappe’s newest deal pays him €25 million over each of the three years after taxes, for a total of €75 million in after-tax salary. He also earned a €100 million signing bonus just for agreeing to stay at the club.

In before tax figures that have been recently disseminated, according to U.S.-based journalist Zack Lowy who shared numbers first stemming from reports in France, Mbappe’s gross salary of €72 million per year is supplemented by the aforementioned signing bonus worth €180 million before tax, payable in three separate installments throughout the life of the contract.

It also features a “loyalty bonus” which totals €240 million before tax, which is paid out in three yearly installments and earned upon Mbappe’s presence on the PSG roster. The difference between the signing bonus and the loyalty bonus is that the signing bonus is earned in full based on simply Mbappe’s signing of the contract, while each installment of the loyalty bonus is earned by Mbappe staying with PSG each subsequent year. The loyalty bonus increases slightly each year, with a €70 million figure triggered in 2022, which rises to €80 million in 2023 and €90 million in 2024.

He has achieve the following title in his “little age”

UEFA European Under-19 Championship (2016)

Ligue 1 (16/17, 17/18, 18/19, 19/20)

Coupe de France (17/18, 19/20)

Coupe de la ligue (17/18, 19/20)

FIFA world cup (2018)

Trophee des Champions (2019)

Despite already proving he belongs among the elite, Mbappé has continued to improve season upon season and this year’s World Cup arguably feels like the moment he steps out alone as the best player in the world.

Mbappé scored a hat-trick in the final against Argentina in 2022 Qatar World Cup, only the second ever man in World Cup history to do so after Geoff Hurst in England’s 1966 victory. His eight goals earned him a Golden Boot. With his hat-trick in the 2022 final, Mbappé became the first player in history to score four goals in World Cup finals.

If compared with Messi, Mbappe, who will turn 24 on December 20, has already played 302 games and scored 225 goals in all competitions at the age of 23. Messi, on the other hand, played 269 games and scored 180 goals across all competitions at the age of 23. While Messi (82) and Mbappe (111) have a similar level of difference in assists across all competitions, they do have a similar number of major titles won. Messi has 11 victories, while Mbappe has 12.
