LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) reportedly decided to field former chief minister Hamza Shahbaz as the leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly.
As per detail, the PML-N has decided to field Hamza Shahbaz for the slot of leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly after consultation with allied parties.
PLM-N is the second largest party in Punjab Assembly.
The former chief minister of Punjab is currently in London on a private visit.
Hamza Shahbaz left for London via private airline days after he was removed as chief minister of the Punjab province through a Supreme Court’s order.
Hamza Shahbaz was removed from the post of CM Punjab after the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari’s ruling in the Punjab Chief Minister election “illegal” and ruled that Pervaiz Elahi will be the new Punjab Chief Minister.
“Deputy Speaker’s ruling is illegal. There is no legal justification for the Deputy Speaker’s ruling,” said the Supreme Court.
