KARACHI: Newly-appointed Karachi Administrator Iftikhar Shallwani held a meeting with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail.
The administrator expressed his gratitude towards the federal and provincial governments for reposing their trust in him. They discussed the transparent use of funds for development projects and other issues relating to the city.
Governor Sindh said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a historic package for the city tha would help in resolving the city’s issues.
He said it was the right of citizens to receive better civic facilities while no serious efforts were made in the past for improving the infrastructure of the city.
The governor said federal, provincial and city governments would joint work to transform the city through coordinated efforts.
The Sindh government on Saturday appointed Local Government Secretary Iftikhar Shallwani as the administrator of Karachi. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said they have decided to appoint Iftikhar Shallwani as Karachi administrator.
Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lauded the government’s decision and hoped that Iftikhar Shalawani will prove to be a good administrator for Karachi.
