Ismail directed the KE CEO to personally supervise matters related to load shedding in Karachi and immediately resolve the complaints of citizens.

During the meeting, Ismail also phoned Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar and stressed the need to improve the load shedding situation in the metropolis and ensure better functioning of the K-Electric.

Azhar issued directions to the KE CEO during the call as well. Several areas of the metropolis continued to suffer prolonged hours of announced and unannounced load-shedding despite the Supreme Court orders.

According to details, the load-shedding duration in different areas of the city has reached up to 12 hours, making lives miserable for Karachiites amid the sweltering heat.
Several areas of the city, including, Malir, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, Lyari, Korangi, and other areas were badly hit by power outages. Citizens complain that the K-Electric is shutting down power under the garb of electrical fault and load management.

The power supply in different sectors of Korangi was again suspended after prolong load shedding from 12 pm to 8 pm. Meanwhile, the residents of Landhi are witnessing unannounced load-shedding 3 times a day.

Several citizens informed that when they contacted K-Electric in this regard, the officials denied the load shedding, indicating that it was a technical fault.

Citizens further informed that nightly load-shedding spells in the city have been causing a lot of restlessness to the people due to the harsh weather.
