KARACHI: The domestic bullion market surged again on Friday, with gold and silver prices recording sharp increases amid continued rupee weakness and strong international demand.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola rose by Rs12,200 to Rs440,936, while 10 grams of 24‑karat gold climbed Rs10,459 to Rs378,031. The 22‑karat gold per 10 grams was quoted at Rs346,541.
Silver followed suit, with 24‑karat silver per tola advancing Rs319 to Rs6,764, and 10 grams of silver gaining Rs274 to Rs5,799.
In the international market, gold jumped $122 to $4,185 per ounce, while silver surged $3.19 to $62.85 per ounce.
Market watchers noted that the persistent rally in bullion is being driven by global inflationary fears and local currency depreciation.
The steep rise has heightened concerns for consumers, especially households preparing for weddings after Muharram and other major purchases, while investors continue to view gold and silver as safe‑haven assets.
