RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its operations against drug trafficking, conducting seven intelligence-based raids in different cities and around educational institutions across the country, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspects.
According to an ANF spokesperson, a targeted operation was carried out near an educational institution on GT Road in Rawalpindi to protect young people, particularly university students, from the harmful effects of drugs. A suspect was arrested with 1.4 kilograms of hashish.
During the initial investigation, the arrested suspect reportedly admitted to regularly supplying and selling drugs to students.
Drug-Smuggling Attempts Foiled at Airports
Meanwhile, ANF teams also foiled attempts to smuggle drugs abroad through air routes.
At Islamabad International Airport, officials recovered 1.072 kilograms of ice concealed in the waistcoat of a passenger travelling to Riyadh.
In a separate operation at Multan Airport, 1,080 ecstasy tablets weighing 745 grams were recovered from the hand-carry luggage of a passenger travelling to Sharjah.
Both passengers were arrested at the respective airports.
