ISLAMABAD: In a major administrative development, 27 law officers serving in different positions within the Islamabad Police have been dismissed from service. The dismissed officers include retired police personnel who previously served as Superintendents of Police (SPs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs).
According to an official notification, the law officers were initially appointed on a temporary basis for a period of three months. Their contracts were subsequently extended from time to time.
The notification stated that the appointments of the dismissed officers were made between April 1, 2023, and September 3, 2026. Their appointments have now been formally terminated.
The development comes two days after senior Islamabad Police authorities dismissed three more personnel over allegations of misuse of authority and illegally detaining citizens.
Islamabad Deputy Inspector General Ali Wasim issued dismissal orders against Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azim, Constable Muhammad Bilal and Constable Saad Imtiaz.
