KARACHI: Gold and silver prices in Pakistan surged again on Thursday, marking the second consecutive day of sharp increases and reversing the relief buyers had enjoyed earlier this week.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola climbed Rs. 7,800 to reach Rs. 496,762, while 10 grams of 24‑karat gold rose Rs. 6,687 to Rs. 425,893. The price of 22‑karat gold per 10 grams also advanced to Rs. 390,416, up Rs. 6,130.
Silver extended its upward momentum, with 24‑karat silver per tola gaining Rs. 373 to Rs. 8,445, and 10 grams of silver increasing Rs. 320 to Rs. 7,240.
On the international market, gold rose $78 to $4,744 per ounce, while silver jumped $3.73 to $79.61 per ounce.
Market experts say the consecutive rise reflects renewed strength in global bullion and currency movements, adding pressure on local buyers. Jewelers caution that volatility remains high, with prices likely to continue fluctuating in line with international trends.
