FM Qureshi returns after conducting two-day visit to China

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has returned Pakistan after conducting a two-day visit to China.

According to sources, a joint declaration was also issued at the end of the second round of Pak-China strategic dialogue. The foreign minister addressed a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Zhi. Shah Mehmood Qureshi also spoke to Chinese and Pakistani media during his short visit.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moinul Haq and senior officials of the Chinese Foreign Ministry saw off the foreign minister at the end of his visit.

During his visit to China, the foreign minister had a detailed meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Zhi. During the meeting, bilateral relations, economic and regional cooperation, and the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) were discussed.

Referring to the novel coronavirus, Qureshi said both countries have largely overcome the pandemic. “Saudi Arabia has a clear position on the issue of Israel and it is a historic position,” he added in reference to the latest statement.
