ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has congratulated the government and the people of Maldives on rejoining the Commonwealth.
FM Qureshi took to Twitter and congratulated the Maldives and said, “We are delighted that the Maldives has rejoined the Commonwealth family.”

Congratulations to the Government and the people of Maldives.
Pakistan looks forward to working closely with Maldives to achieve our shared objectives of peace,

The Foreign Minister further said, “Pakistan looks forward to working closely with the Maldives to achieve our shared objectives of peace, development, and prosperity.”
Earlier on Saturday, Maldives rejoined the commonwealth nations after 40 months, as the Maldives left the organization over criticism of its human rights record.
