Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that a strong and people-friendly police force is indispensable for internal security, stressing that the enforcement of law and order is a sacred trust entrusted to the police.
He reaffirmed that the armed forces will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Police.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the National Police Academy in Islamabad, where he met and held discussions with officers of the Police Service of Pakistan.
The Federal Minister for Interior and the Minister of State for Interior were also present during the visit.
ISPR said the Field Marshal was accorded a warm welcome by the Commandant of the National Police Academy, while a smartly turned-out police contingent presented him with a guard of honour. He laid floral wreaths at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial and offered Fateha, paying tribute to police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The Field Marshal praised the sacrifices made by police officers in combating terrorism, crime and emerging security challenges.
Addressing inspectors general, additional inspectors general and other senior officers, he underscored the importance of inter-agency coordination and modern policing practices.
Highlighting public trust as the foundation of effective law enforcement, Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated that a strong, professional and people-centric police force is vital for maintaining internal stability.
He once again assured that Pakistan’s armed forces will continue to fully support and stand alongside the police in safeguarding law and order.
