Inamullah Marwat, the Federal Investigation Agency deputy director, was killed when unidentified men opened fire at him near the jurisdiction of Ghazni Khel police station in Lakki Marwat on Saturday, sources said.
The firing took place a few yards away from the DPO office. Marwat was posted as the FIA deputy director in Dera Ismail Khan. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
Lakki Marwat has seen unrest over the past few months, prompting the police to launch a search operation in the area in November.
