Police have arrested a female tutor involved in the theft of gold jewelry worth Rs3 million from the home of a widow in Lahore’s Sanda area.
The accused, a female tutor, was detained along with two other women from Pakpattan on the special directive of DIG Investigations Syed Zeeshan Raza.
According to police, the prime suspect was employed as a teacher at a private tuition center run by the victim. During this time, she secretly stole a house key and had a duplicate made. In the absence of the family, the group entered the home and stole 10 tolas of gold jewelry along with cash before fleeing the scene.
The arrests were made using CCTV footage and human intelligence. Police officials stated that strong evidence has been gathered, and a solid case will be submitted to ensure the culprits receive appropriate punishment.
Last week, Punjab Police had arrested two men involved in a house robbing Rs12 million (one crore 20 lac) from a house.
According to details, Ali Raza, the former driver of the house, was the mastermind of the robbery which he carried out with his accomplice Rashid.
The suspects were arrested after Johar Town police traced them using modern technology. The police have recovered 40,000 Saudi Riyals, 25 tolas of gold, expensive watches, and a pistol from the two men.
