SHEIKHUPURA: Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the abduction and gang rape of an eight-class female student in Sheikhupura, Punjab.
According to sources, the incident took place in the area of City B Division Police Station on February 19, soon after registration of the case police recovered the girl on the complaint and sent her for a medical checkup.
Police have arrested the three accused within 24 hours of the incident. On the timely arrest of the accused, IG Punjab Police has announced to give cash rewards and certificates of appreciation to SHO Police Station City B Division and police personnel.
In addition, Sheikhupura District Police Officer Faisal Mukhtar has been directed to personally supervise the case and to use all possible means and efforts to bring the accused to justice.
In October last year, a seventh-grade student was gang-raped in the Choasaiden Shah area of Chakwal. Police said the student was raped by a rickshaw driver and his accomplice.
