‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ becomes most watched drama in India

The first episode of the Turkish drama ‘Dirilis Ertugrul’ released on YouTube dubbed in  Urdu has become the most-watched dramain India.

According to the most viewed videos of the year 2020 in India released by YouTube, the first episode of ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ is among the 10 most-watched videos in the country. Surprisingly, the video of the first episode of ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ also surpassed many Indian dramas, films, and songs.

The first episode of ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ became the fourth most-watched video in India. The video of the first episode of ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ had been watched around 85.766 million till 18th December.

The play ‘Ertugrul’ highlights Islamic history and culture which has been neglected by the local media and vehemently shunned in the West. Turkish dramas reflect its culture and are the country’s most well known cultural exports.

Turkish television dramas are among the world’s lengthiest ranging between 120 and 150 minutes per episode. The television industry has played a pivotal role in increasing Turkey’s popularity in Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa.
