LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) will resume the hearing of former premier Nawaz Sharif case today for the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, comprising Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem will resume hearing the case today at 12:30 am.
The LHC earlier on Friday rejected a plea by the federal government and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking to dismiss a petition of Nawaz Sharif for being non-maintainable.

A division bench, headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, had ruled that the court can hear the petition of Nawaz Sharif through which he sought directives for the government to strike his name off the ECL.
Advocate Amjad Pervez filed the application on behalf of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif pleading with the court to order the removal of Sharif’s name from the ECL without any conditionality.
The federal government, the interior ministry, and others have been named as respondents in the application.

The applicant maintained that Nawaz Sharif has been granted bail on medical grounds; however, the interior ministry has not removed Sharif’s name from the no-fly list so that he can go abroad for medical treatment.
On 13th November, the government agreed to let Nawaz travel abroad for medical treatment, for a four-week period, provided that he submits a surety bond worth Rs7 billion. However, Nawaz rejected the government’s conditional offer to travel abroad.
