LAHORE: An anti-narcotics court has extended judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah for 14 days in the narcotics case.
The ANF officials presented Rana Sanaullah before the ANF court as his judicial remand expires today.
Last week, the court had rejected the bail plea of Sanaullah in the drug recovery case from his vehicle.
In its two pages judgment, the court said that Rana Sanaullah’s case challan had been submitted and soon his formal trial will begin and at this stage, the suspect could not be granted bail on medical grounds.
The court further noted that the suspect’s fresh medical report was not presented before the judiciary.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had submitted a charge-sheet against Sanaullah in July this year, in a case related to the alleged recovery of heroin from his car.

On 1st July, Rana Sanaullah was arrested by the ANF in a narcotics case and the next day a judicial magistrate sent him to jail on judicial remand.
ANF claimed that it had seized a large number of drugs in possession of Sanaullah and lodged a case under section 9 (C) of Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997.
Both sections carry the death penalty, life imprisonment or a jail-term that may extend to 14 years along with a fine up to Rs.1 million.
