Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s 18-year-old nephew, Imad Siddiqui, was shot and killed in Houston, sending shockwaves through the Pakistani community in the United States.
According to police, the incident occurred in Alton, where unknown assailants shot Imad Siddiqui during a carjacking and fled the scene. The attackers were reported to be traveling in a Chrysler vehicle.
Authorities said that, with the help of nearby CCTV cameras, the suspects have been identified. The Pasadena Police Department is actively pursuing the suspects, conducting raids at multiple locations to apprehend them.
Meanwhile, Imad Siddiqui’s funeral prayers will be held today after Zuhr prayers at Masjid Sabrain, where a large number of attendees are expected.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist, was convicted in the United States on terrorism-related charges in 2010.
She is serving an 86-year prison sentence for attempting to harm U.S. personnel in Afghanistan. Her case has drawn significant attention in Pakistan and globally, with widespread debate over her treatment and conviction.
