Dense fog covers most parts of Punjab, KP and Sindh
ISLAMABAD: Dense fog has covered most plain areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh as well as a few districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, disturbing daily routine life.
Due to fog, travelers have been advised to not travel unnecessarily and use fog lights. It caused poor visibility and made conditions difficult for driving. Poor visibility has also caused scores of flights to be diverted or re-routed in the region.
Moderate to dense fog is reported in Sukkur, Larkana, Rohri, Padidan and Jacobabad districts of upper Sindh during the morning and night hours.
On 21st November, air pollution in the shape of smog engulfed Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport forcing the diversion of three flights to Islamabad.
According to airport sources, flight number QR 628 from Doha to Lahore was diverted to Islamabad airport due to poor visibility caused by intense smog.

Fog is a complex atmospheric phenomenon, which can be considered as a type of low-lying cloud. The formation of fog is influenced by nearby water bodies, topography, wind speed, and even human activities. Fog is defined as a visibility of fewer than 1,000 meters.
