Cyclone Kyarr: Sea water creates hurdle for Karachi residents

KARACHI: Cyclonic storm Kyarr impacted the coastal belt near Karachi and in result sea water entered in the homes of the residents.
According to sources, sea water entered in the various localities in the metropolis including Malkani, Lath Basti, Kemari, Chashma and Rehri Goth area.
Sea water also created hurdle for the residents of Baba Bhat Island and Bhatta Village, added sources.

According to media reports, the sea water also entered the DHA Golf Club on Monday.
The volunteers of Fisherman Co-operative Society had launced a rescue operation. The rescue team evacuated around 100 families from the affected areas. The families were shifted to nearby schools and colleges buildings, added sources.

Earlier, Mayor of Karachi, Waseem Akhtar declared emergency in the city after the MET office made predictions about cyclone Kyarr.
The mayor released directives to concerned authorities and gave them clear instructions regarding the unforeseen situation in the metropolis.
He instructed them to stay on-duty to tackle the unpredictable condition that the cyclone may cause.
