KARACHI: Pop Pakistani singer Fakhr-e-Alam has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to enforce a coronavirus lockdown in the country.
On a social media website Twitter, the singer posted a video and urged PM Imran Khan to enforce a coronavirus lockdown in the country.
Alam further said, “Dear honorable PM Imran Khan, it is a humble request to you to please reconsider a lockdown before it’s too late. I could be wrong and I know you are worried about social unrest but we can end up in a far worse place. #CoronaVirusPakistan.”
He wrote: “As a humble citizen, I want to say the government has appealed to the people, on the one hand, to stay at home and practice social distancing. But as a result, the move also impacts the lower-income class and the regular wage earners, because people don’t go out or go to work, and the regular earner doesn’t earn something as it is.”
He added, “I propose that we should build rationing depots at various points in our cities, especially in areas where the lower-income class exists. And we should make a complete two-week lockdown, so we can alleviate this disease.”
