PESHAWAR: At least 11 people died and 22 other sustained injuries in the recent separate rain-related incidents in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to rescue sources, 11 people died in KP including two children killed and another eight persons of the same family got injured after a roof of their house collapsed in Nowshera on Saturday.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, three injured were in critical condition, sources said.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a statement stated 38 houses were also partially damaged due to heavy rains in the province.
On Friday, At least 11 people, including women, were killed, and several injured in a recent spell of heavy rains in different parts of the country.
As per details, a roof of a house collapsed in Okar. As a result, two children were killed. The security personnel and rescue teams reached the scene shifted the bodies to hospital autopsies.
Meanwhile, eight people have died and 13 others injured due to rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rescue sources informed four people died as the roof of two houses collapsed in KPs Mardan.
Heavy rain lashed out different parts of the country including Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Two women suffered injuries as the roof of a house caved-in at Chobarewala Mian Channu in Kanwal.
According to Rescue 1122, the roof of a house caved-in due to continuous rain at which two women Rashida Bibi and Maqsood Bibi stranded under debris.
Rescue officials pull out the women from debris and shifted to civil hospital for treatment. In Multan, a mother and her six-year-old son were killed as roof of their home fall due to heavy shower at Basti Dahri, tehsil Sanawan, Muzaffargarh district Friday morning.
