LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has dismissed Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz’s bail petition that he filed on grounds of coronavirus risk in prison.
A two-bench comprising Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem and Justice Farooq Haider conducted the hearing in which advocate of Hamza Shahbaz requested the court that there is a potential risk of coronavirus spread in the jail.
During the hearing, the bench remarked that Hamza Shehbaz’s bail petition has already been dismissed. The judge further stated that the petitioner must move to the Supreme Court.
Last month, Hamza Shehbaz filed a petition in the LHC in which he sought bail on grounds of coronavirus outbreak in prison as he feared an outbreak in jail. He made the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), DG NAB and investigating officer a party to it.
Hamza Shehbaz along with his father Shehbaz Sharif is accused of making a drain in Chiniot which benefitted their Ramzan Sugar Mill.
