LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) in which he has sought bail as he fears an outbreak of the coronavirus in the prison.
Hamza Shehbaz, in a petition filed through his lawyer Amjad Pervaiz stated that the coronavirus pandemic has caused an alarming situation in the country and even prisoners were exposed to the risk.
He in his plea also requested the court to grant him bail in assets beyond income case due to the same reason, the spread of the coronavirus. He had made the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), DG NAB and investigating officer a party to it.
Hamza Shehbaz along with his father Shehbaz Sharif is accused of making a drain in Chiniot which benefitted in the Ramzan Sugar Mill.
He is also held accountable by the NAB in assets beyond means case. In the year 2018, Hamza’s assets were found to be worth Rs410 million. He couldn’t prove assets worth Rs380 million, and the money was laundered to Dubai and England, and 40 individuals were involved in the money laundering.
