Luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co has launched a striking new creation, the Opera Vantara Green Camo, valued at a staggering $1.5 million (around ₹13.7 crore).
Unveiled on January 21, 2026, the watch honors Anant Ambani and his Vantara Global Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre in Gujarat, celebrating wildlife conservation through an ultra-ornate timepiece.
At the dial’s center is a hand-painted miniature figurine of Anant Ambani, flanked by intricately sculpted lions and Bengal tigers, symbolic of the sanctuary’s protected species.

The dial is encrusted with 397 gemstones, including demantoid garnets, tsavorites, green sapphires, and white diamonds, creating a shimmering green camouflage effect. True to Jacob & Co’s style, it prioritizes spectacle over legibility, turning timekeeping into wearable art.
While collectors hail the watch as a masterpiece blending haute horlogerie with meaningful storytelling, online reactions reveal a split between admiration and skepticism.
While, some praise the craftsmanship and symbolic tribute to conservation, others debate whether such extravagance serves purpose or simply flaunts wealth.
Why you guys make the worst looking watches and I’m surprised people buy them 😭😭
Maybe I would have gotten it if i had money.

Yet, critics question the practicality, with one social media user wryly noting, “I can see everything but the time.”
A watch is for time. So why are we obsessed with adding every thing else?
