LAHORE: Lahore Police have arrested 13,800 people in connection with alleged electricity theft during various operations across the city this year.
According to a spokesperson for Lahore Police, more than 12,000 cases of electricity theft have been registered at different police stations across the city. Meanwhile, 46 suspects nominated in electricity theft cases have been declared proclaimed offenders.
The spokesperson said indiscriminate action against those involved in electricity theft is continuing, while a crackdown is also underway against individuals involved in manufacturing devices used for stealing electricity.
Lahore Police said investigations into electricity theft cases are being expedited to ensure their timely conclusion. The police remain committed to curbing electricity theft and ensuring the rule of law across the city.
