KARACHI: Authorities have decided to freeze bank accounts and block digital wallets linked to accused drug trafficker Anmol alias “Pinky” and her associates as part of an expanding financial crackdown in an ongoing narcotics investigation.
According to details, a fresh development has emerged in the high-profile case of the alleged drug network involving the Karachi-based suspect. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza has written another formal letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), requesting immediate action against the financial assets of the Anmol Pinky and her network.
In the letter, it has been recommended that all bank accounts belonging to Anmol Pinky, her alleged handlers, and street-level drug suppliers operating across the city be frozen without delay.
Authorities have also stressed that, in addition to traditional banking channels, all digital wallets and mobile payment accounts linked to the suspects should be blocked, citing their alleged use in laundering and transferring proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Officials stated that the financial trail is believed to be directly connected to proceeds from narcotics trafficking, which were allegedly concealed and moved through both formal and digital financial systems.
Investigators further claim that Anmol Pinky is not only linked to drug trafficking but also faces charges related to illegal arms possession and murder, as authorities continue to tighten the net around the wider network.
The FIA is expected to act on the recommendations as part of a broader effort to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting the alleged criminal operation.
