KARACHI: Dua Aamir, the daughter of former MP and televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain, on Thursday recorded her statement before the judicial magistrate in the city court in the case related to his father’s alleged objectionable video.
Dua Aamir claimed in the statement that her father wed Dania Shah in January 2022 and that Dania Shah had produced pornographic recordings of the late televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
Aamir Liaquat’s daughter went on to say that the offensive videos had a negative impact on his father’s health as well as his marriage.
“My father died of depression after the objectionable videos,” stated Dua Aamir.
The petitioner told the magistrate that after her father’s death, she lodged a complaint to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and provided proof against Dania Shah.
Dua Aamir rejected all the allegations of depriving Dania Shah of the inheritance and stated that, she does not have the whole property of her father.
A day earlier, the Sindh High Court (SHC) denied Dania Shah’s request for bail in a case involving the release of offensive film featuring her late husband Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
After hearing both sides’ arguments, the SHC reserved its decision.
In the obscene video leak case, the FIA cybercrime circle in Karachi detained Dania Shah, the ex-wife of Aamir Liaquat Hussain, in Lodhran in December 2022.
