The “Riyasat Poudina” formed as a result of the 2018 election results is still facing the dilemma that the poor are forced to rely on bread earned through hard labor. The outcome is that the shame of writers is upon us, as people associated with us continue to believe that we have the solution to every problem.
Recently, we have received several messages seeking advice on improving financial situations. Since those seeking advice are “Din Dar” (religious), here is a tried-and-tested solution.
An easy way to eliminate financial difficulties is to launch a peer-to-peer project. Here’s how: Find two or four friends who are in a similar financial situation as you and are also facing financial challenges. They should be in different cities. Encourage them to start repeating the following statement in front of their friends in their cities:
“Our elders say…”
But before that, replace your shirt with a white shalwar kameez. The kameez should be long enough for others sitting in other cities to be able to join. The length of the trousers should reach the center of the knees and ankles. The sleeves should only cover the fingers, leaving the rest of the hand exposed. Use a zero-number machine to shave your head and avoid having a mustache under any circumstances. There should not be an imamah (turban) on your head; that is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. You are not walking the path of religion; you are starting a peer-to-peer business, so wear a cap made by the hands of today’s followers.
It’s essential to thoroughly memorize the writings of Hazrat Thanvi (may Allah have mercy on him) and some portions of the writings of Hazrat Mujaddid Alf Thani (may Allah have mercy on him). Memorizing is crucial because blessings do not descend upon peerage until these two things are more emphasized than the Quran and Hadith. It doesn’t matter if the names of the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) do not come to your tongue; however, the names of Junaid Baghdadi, Hasan Basri, Sheikh Gilani, Rabia Basri, and Ibn Arabi should be on your lips. While books are not essential for a peer, if you make a plan to read Ibn Arabi’s Fusus al-Hikam and Ghazali’s Ihya Ulum al-Din from time to time, it will bring blessings.
Your decoration is complete; now let’s move towards the Khanqah. Since you are still poor, you will have to shape the sitting room of your house like a Khanqah. A carpet must be there. Just buy a small-sized prayer rug that is double the size of the prayer area. If there are any unused blankets or beds in the house, take out the wool, and make a pillow large enough to accommodate at least twenty kilograms of wool. Buy a shiny steel incense holder. Have a calligrapher write the following statement and frame it:
“The moment of a true disciple always remains fragrant with the memory of the Sheikh.”
Now, you are ready, and so is your Khanqah. Not only that, but in other cities, those four “Khalifas” have also prepared the environment that you included in the scheme. They have started repeating the phrase in front of their friends, “Our elders say…” Many are eagerly awaiting your visit. You just need to reach their cities. They will bring enthusiasts themselves. You should not talk too much in front of them. Always keep your head bowed and move slowly. If they ask a question, the answer should be complex, but it should not be more than two sentences. Oh yes! There is an important thing to mention. When they come for the meeting, do not perform the customary handshake. Place your right hand on the top button, and just slightly raise your hand upward so that they can achieve the pleasure of a handshake by bowing down. And in that pleasure, only the fingertips of your fingers should touch theirs.
You may think this is arrogance, but it is also part of Islam. It is called “Istighna” in peerage. Similarly, addressing someone and pointing out their faults in Islam is forbidden, but in peerage, it is called “Tazkiya Nafs.” So, you also need to deal with these disciples. For example, tell one of them:
“There is a bad smell of forbidden things coming from your mouth.”
Don’t worry; he won’t be offended. Instead, he will catch your peer, requesting “Tazkiya.” Meanwhile, others will be eager to be discovered by your associates. Now you need to ask these disciples to gather people from your city for a week. Keep in mind that your city should be Karachi under all circumstances. Otherwise, the shop, i.e., the Khanqah, will not flourish. Tell the Khalifas that before they bring them to Karachi, they should assign them the same status as you have. Open and long Kurtas, similar caps, and shaved mustaches.
“When you come to Karachi, you must perform the Maghrib prayer in two different mosques in Defense for two days, just as if you are passing through for the prayer. The Maghrib prayer should be offered in every situation because many Seths participate in this prayer.
Your presence in the midst of the disciples, entering and exiting the mosque, will accomplish everything. Many Seths will be surprised to see that a pious person has come today. This will raise questions in their minds about who this person is. To find the answer, two or four of them will come close to your disciples. By whispering in the ear of one of them, they will seek an introduction from you. Upon obtaining the introduction, they will go home and express their willingness to serve you. But you should not go with them. Expressing humility, say:
“Now we don’t have permission to enter anyone’s house.”
In this way, they will find out your address and reach you themselves. Not only will they reach, but they will go to homes and factories so that your blessed steps bring blessings to their businesses. When this happens, understand that the time for the blessings of Sufism has arrived. Soon, all your sorrows will come to an end. Someone has already read this path to the Seths that even if business is Haram, keeping a substantial portion for someone associated with Allah in it purifies the entire wealth.
But the mission is not yet complete. Propagation is also necessary in the Peer discipleship. So, you need to perform the Dhuhr prayer in a prominent religious school for two days. Such a school that is located on the main road, for example, in Benori Town or Darul Uloom Karachi, etc.
There should also be enthusiasm among the disciples there. There, too, foreigners should question who this person is. The only difference will be that they will be students, not disciples. They will also seek your introduction from the disciples. Since classes are about to start, they will not invite you to their rooms. If someone from the administration asks you to visit, politely refuse, or it could create problems. They know what benefit this visit will bring. The benefit will be that the students who saw you will inform everyone.
“You know, today Peer Guffar-ud-Din Shah Sahib visited! Alhamdulillah, we were fortunate enough to shake hands with him.”
And on the same day in the evening, posts will appear on Facebook telling that your visit to their school happened. Details will be provided about the radiant features of your face, and you will be portrayed as being unaware of it yourself.
So, sir, your business has picked up. Now you only need to do two things. One is to get your massages done by poor disciples, make them chant, and ensure “vacancy” only for Seth disciples. They should be informed promptly that Allah is very pleased with them. The second task is to organize two or three caliphs in your city as well. The most important responsibility of these caliphs is to spread your miracles. Miracles should be unique. For example, it is famous about old Sufis that they used to read Fajr with the ablution of Isha.
How were their children born? No one has any purpose; it is just that Hazrat Isha used to read Fajr with the ablution of Isha, but everyone focuses on the appearance. Your caliphs should publicize that you read Isha with the ablution of Fajr. If someone asks how this is possible, the answer is straightforward that this is the miracle of reading the ablution in Fajr and offering the prayer with it in Isha.
If you have gained the impression from the Master Plan of Peer Discipleship that we are against Sufism, then you are thinking wrong. We have only drawn your attention towards a fraud of the present time. Open your eyes, and you will understand soon. Learn the principles of real piety.
Allah has placed the obligatory acts in a collective form. For example, obligatory prayers, Hajj, fasting in Ramadan, etc. But in optional worship, there is “secrecy.” Why? Because this is the world of divine love, and secrecy is the first condition in love.
For example, it is said to perform Sunnah at home, Tahajjud, optional prayers, and recitation at home. Similarly, Zakat can be given in front of everyone, but there is a ruling in the matter of voluntary charity that one hand should not know what the other hand is giving. So, the Peer and his disciples decide the extent of such discretion that makes them stand out in front of the public so that it appears that a saint is passing by, not coming out without the chaos of spoons from homes or Khanqahs. Prefer purification of the self over self-justification. The focus should be on purification through tajweed, not on self-purification. True saints keep themselves hidden!
