The US Human Rights Violations 2020 report released by the Chinese government also provides a detailed overview of the ongoing racial discrimination, and law and order situation in the United States. The main points of this report regarding racial discrimination are as follows.

The death of George Floyd killed by a white police officer. This sparked a nationwide protest which spread to fifty states in the United States. The US government attempted to crush this movement by force. During the protest, more than 10,000 protesters and a large number of journalist were arrested.

Black Americans make up 13% of the total US population, but 28% of Americans killed by police.   Whether those who died at the hands of the police will receive justice can be gauged from the fact that between 2013 and 2020, 98% of the police officers involved in the killing of civilians were acquitted.

There are 33% non-white children under the age of 18 in the United States. But 66 percent the children in jail under the age of 18 are non-white.

According to a report published in the Los Angeles Times on September 15, 2020, the vast majority of death row inmates across the United States are black. The report also states that in the United States, a white person is less likely to be executed for killing a black person. The chances of a white man being sentenced to death are higher if he has killed a white man.

On December 4, 2020, Davis Vanguard reported that since 1976, 43% of those executed have been non-white, while 55% of current death row inmates are non-white prisoners. This number is very unusual in terms of the proportion of the population that raises questions about the state of ‘justice’ in the US.

The situation of racial discrimination can be gauged from the fact that all leadership positions of the FBI are currently occupied by white officers. Of the company’s 13,000 agents, only 4 percent are black and the number of black women in the agency is only one percent.

According to the data released by the US Department of Labour in September 2020, the total number of unemployed people is double that of blacks and whites.

A report published in USA Today on October 23, 2020, revealed that 73.7% of white Americans own their own home while only 44% of blacks own a home. A survey of young Americans found that a quarter of Asian Americans experienced racial bullying in 2020.

The Red Indians are the most oppressed nation in American history because they have been the victims of the worst massacres. Unfortunately the remaining Red Indians are still treated as second class citizens living in one of the lowest-income areas in the United States.

On August 5, 2020, the UN Special Representative submitted a report stating that the Red Indians were forced to live near nuclear waste in the United States, which not only caused cancer and heart disease but children with birth defects are also being born.

A CNN report of September 30, 2020 revealed that 21 people who had applied for political asylum died in the custody of US immigration and customs officials. A report published in the Los Angeles Times on October 30, 2020, revealed that 25,000 of the children who immigrated to the United States remained in the custody of US authorities for more than 100 days.

A report in the Los Angeles Times website on November 18, 2020, revealed that the US deported 8,800 children from the United States. These children were separated from their parents at border crossings. These children from Mexico and Central America are in grave danger in their home countries.

Several US media outlets have reported that dozens of women from Latin America and Caribbean have filed a lawsuit in federal court in the US state of Georgia alleging that they were forced to undergo operations while in custody of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They claimed to have lost their ability to have children.

Despite the worst internal human rights situation, the US government’s hypocrisy and duplicity is such that it continues to issue reports on the human rights situation in other parts of the world.

How bad is the law and order situation in the United States? In this regard, the report makes the following revelations.

Gun violence in the United States is reaching an all-time high and massacres in its cities are on the rise. In 2020 alone, US citizens bought 23 million weapons. The purchase of weapons increased by a record 64% compared to 2019.

The number of people killed by guns in 2020 exceeded 41,500. This average rate is about 110 deaths per day. This suggests that the US government has completely failed to protect its citizens. There were 592 massacres throughout the United States during 2020.

According to the FBI report released in 2020, there were 1.2 million violent crimes across the United States in 2019. There were 16,000 murders, 140,000 rapes, 270,000 robberies and more than 821,000 severe beatings. This shows the United States has failed to protect the lives, property, and human rights of its citizens.

On June 17, 2020, the 43rd meeting of the UN Human Rights Council was held. It was the first time in history that an emergency meeting of the council was held to discuss the deteriorating human rights situation in the United States.

Then, on November 9, 2020, the international community sharply criticized the United States for the third time in a row at the same council meeting. It noted that racism in the US was at an all-time high. Racist slogans and campaigns by white supremacists are on the rise, and organisations such as the Ku Klux Klan are once again active. There is an organized movement of white supremacy that believes in the contempt and hatred of other races. There are also statements from political leaders that promote racial and religious discrimination.

Despite the worst internal human rights situation, the US government’s hypocrisy and duplicity is such that it continues to issue reports on the human rights situation in other parts of the world.
