KARACHI: One criminal was shot dead and three others were arrested in a police encounter near Numaish Chowrangi on Tuesday while their accomplice manages to escape.
Police said the five suspected criminals robbed the house of Pastor George. Superintendent Police Jamshed Town Farooq Bijarani said one criminal was shot dead while three others were arrested in an injured condition. One of them is said to be in a critical situation.
Pastor George’s son had informed police about the robbery incident on the helpline after which police reached the scene of the incident. During the exchange of fire, one robber was shot dead while three others were wounded. Police have not identified the robbers while efforts are being made to arrest the escaped accomplice.
Earlier in November, police claimed to have killed a mugger in an alleged encounter in the Korangi area. According to details, three muggers were intercepted in the Korangi area and after an exchange of fire one of them sustained a bullet wound.
Police said the suspect died on the spot while his other two accomplices escaped from the scene. Police claimed to have recovered weapons, mobile phones, and cash from his possession and had launched a search operation for his accomplice in light of the evidence collected from the crime scene.
