ISLAMABAD: The inaugural flight of British airline Virgin Atlantic has landed at the Islamabad International airport from Heathrow on Friday.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner extended his felicitations over the landing of the inaugural flight of the Virgin Atlantic airline in Pakistan. Special Assistant to the PM for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Department Syed Zulfikar Bukhari was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfikar Bukhari said the revival of international airlines will boost trade and tourism in the country. He said After British Airlines, Virgin Airlines is the second-largest airline in the UK to launch a series of flights to Pakistan.
The special assistant said this will further enhance the scope of relations between Pakistan and the UK. He said the resumption of international airlines will boost trade and even trade ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. He said Virgin Atlantic has been allowed to land eight flights a week and will use modern Airbus A332 for Pakistan.

Virgin Atlantic airline said said that they are thrilled for the maiden flight to Islamabad from Heathrow airport in London. It said that flights will also be commenced to Lahore later this month.
Pakistan has allowed the airline to operate directs flights to Islamabad from Manchester after approval from the aviation division. Virgin Atlantic would operate four Islamabad-bound flights in a week from Manchester.
