The University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Tuesday, following the decision of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), announced an increase in the number of seats for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs at three private medical colleges.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore.
According to details, MBBS seats in Abwa Medical College in Faisalabad, Niazi Medical College in Sargodha, and Rahbar Medical College in Lahore have been increased from 100 to 150. Moreover, 50 BDS program seats have also been included with Rahbar Dental College.

The Syndicate also granted affiliation to Niazi College of Allied Health Sciences, Sargodha, which was given permission to launch BS Allied Health degree programs in six disciplines.
For maintaining proper academic discipline in the college, the UHS Syndicate determined a minimum requirement of 85 percent attendance for examination eligibility with sharp rules to prevent unauthorized absences.
