ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to visit Afghanistan on a one-day tour next week.
The prime minister has been invited by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. The date for the official visit has been determined, however, it is not being disclosed for security reasons. The visit will take place mid-week.
PM Imran Khan is expected to discuss the peace process and bilateral relations with his Afghan counterpart. This will be Imran Khan’s first official visit to Afghanistan since he assumed power in 2018.
Moreover, PM Imran Khan will arrive in Quetta today on a one-day visit to Balochistan. The prime minister will hold meetings with the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan. He will be briefed on the current security situation in Balochistan.
According to sources, Federal Communications Minister Murad Saeed and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz will accompany the prime minister on his visit to Balochistan.

The sources further said that the prime minister will inaugurate the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor road. He will also announce a development package for Balochistan during his visit.
During his stay in Quetta, PM Imran Khan will also meet members of the Provincial Assembly and senior leaders of his party. The prime minister will be briefed on the current security situation in the province and the progress of ongoing development projects in Balochistan.
