KARACHI: Police have released a nine-year-old boy who was accused of stealing a vehicle from the upscale Defence Housing Authority area.
According to police, 15 police assistants in the Sea View area of Darakhshan Police Station arrested the boy, named Bilal.
Darakhshan Police Station SHO Naseer Tanoli stated that the recovered vehicle was stolen from Khayaban-e-Mujahid Defense Phase 5 area. “He does things to fulfill this passion,” he maintained.
He further informed that the boy drives a stolen motorbike or a car as long as it has petrol in it and when the petrol runs out, the boy leaves the motorbike or car there.
The SHO further said that the police summoned the boy’s father to the police station. Additionally, according to the police, the father of the minor is a drug addict, however, he revealed that his son had committed such incidents before.
According to the SHO, the boy is a minor so no legal action can be taken against him. However, the police released him after conducting a full inquiry and warning the boy’s father and son that if the boy did such an unlawful act, then strict legal action would be taken against the minor.
